In an effort to rule out ‘hassle’ from business entity search in Montana (MT), we’ve jotted down a step by step search guide below. Hope it helps when you make your big move.
Montana Business Entity Search
One can do a Montana business entity search either by Business database search or use Advanced Search.
Business Name or Number Search: This is the simplest method to conduct the search based on business name or ID.
Advanced Search: Use registration date, business type, and status to narrow down broad search results.
Search By Name or Number
Step 1: First off, navigate to the business search page and click ‘Get Started’ button.
Step 2: In the new page that opens, click on ‘Search for a Business’ link and proceed.
Step 3: On the next page, enter the business name or ID which you would like to search. There are 2 filtered provided – starts with/contains to refine the search results.
If searching by name, make sure comma, period and other punctuations are removed.
Note: If you are searching by ID, do not enter spaces or hyphen.
Step 4: Click on ‘Search‘ button.
Step 5: On this page, you will be able to view the following information about each business:
- Business Name
- Registration Date
- Entity Type
If you have entered the business ID, then you can directly view the business summary.
Otherwise, if you have searched by business name, then you will see the list of businesses that match the keyword. If you are unable to find the business from the list, try searching again with refined search parameters.
For purpose of illustration, we searched for ‘Electrical‘ keyword. The search resulted in 52 matching business entities (refer image below).
Step 5: Now select the business you’re looking for by clicking on the name of the business entity.
Step 6: On the final page, you will be able to view complete details of the business.
Below we have explained the meaning of each term used in the report:
